In the narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy Mrk 766, a quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) signal with a period of ∼6450 s is detected in the XMM-Newton data collected on 2005 May 31. This QPO signal is highly statistically significant at the ∼5σ confidence level, with a quality factor of Q = f / Δ f > 13.6 . The X-ray intensity changed by a factor of 3, with a root mean square fractional variability of 14.3%. Furthermore, this QPO signal is present in the data of all three EPIC detectors and two RGS…

A Possible Quasi-Periodic Oscillation in the X-ray Emission of 3C 120

We present here the detection of a possible quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) signal in the X-ray light curve of the active galactic nucleus 3C 120, a broad line radio galaxy at z = 0.033. The hint of

Two Transient X-Ray Quasi-periodic Oscillations Separated by an Intermediate State in 1H 0707-495

In the narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy 1H 0707-495, recently a transient quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) signal with a frequency of Hz has been detected at a high statistical significance. Here, we

Reobserving the NLS1 galaxy RE J1034+396 – I. The long-term, recurrent X-ray QPO with a high significance

RE J1034+396 is a narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy (NLS1) in which the first significant X-ray quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) in an active galactic nucleus (AGN) was observed in 2007. We report the

A 31.3 day Transient Quasiperiodic Oscillation in Gamma-ray Emission from Blazar S5 0716+714

Quasiperiodic Behavior in the γ-Ray Light Curve of the Blazar PKS 0405-385

We analyze the quasiperiodic oscillation (QPO) of the historical light curve of flat-spectrum radio quasars PKS 0405-385 detected by the Fermi Large Area Telescope from 2008 August to 2021 November.

Exploring the X-ray universe via timing: mass of the active galactic nucleus black hole XMMUJ134736.6+173403

Abstract A strong quasi-periodic modulation has recently been revealed in the X-ray flux of the X-ray source XMMUJ134736.6+173403. The two observed twin-peak quasiperiodic oscillations (QPOs) exhibit

A Relativistic Orbit Model for Temporal Properties of AGN

We present a unified model for X-ray quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) seen in Narrow-line Seyfert 1 (NLSy1) galaxies, $\gamma$-ray and optical band QPOs that are seen in Blazars. The origin of

Detection of an X-ray periodicity in the Narrow-line Seyfert~1 Galaxy Mrk 766 with XMM-Newton

Simulations of light curves with the observed time sequence and phase randomized for a red noise spectrum clearly indicate that the periodicity peak is intrinsic to the distant AGN and its existence is confirmed by the EPIC MOS and RGS data.

DETECTION OF A POSSIBLE X-RAY QUASI-PERIODIC OSCILLATION IN THE ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEUS 1H 0707–495

The quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) detected in the X-ray radiation of black hole X-ray binaries (BHXBs) is thought to originate from dynamical processes in close vicinity of black holes (BHs), and
