Energy efficiency is an important issue in wireless networks. We investigate the power management scheme in the IEEE 802.11 based infrastructure WLANs (wireless local area network) in order to find the optimal parameters that can achieve good energy efficiency without degrading other performances. With power management, an AP (Access Point) might temporarily buffer packets whose destination stations are in the Doze state.
