In this paper, an improved method is presented for modeling of leaf venation patterns. [...] Key Method Combined Runions' modeling method with L-systems, the growth of main and lateral veins is accelerated. Moreover, a new dart-throwing algorithm is exploited to place auxin sources in each simulation loop. The results verify that the improved method result in venation patterns of higher reality more effectively.Expand
Contour-based Procedural Modeling of Leaf Venation Patterns
This study proposes an efficient method to model various and diverse leaves required to express digital plants such as flowers and trees in virtual landscape easily and intuitively. The proposedExpand
PROCEDURAL MODELING AND CONSTRAINED MORPHING OF LEAVES
TLDR
The proposed leaf model is intuitive and can be used to generate multiple instances of a leaf, each having the same overall shape but differs slightly in detail, and a leaf morphing method is proposed for morphing leaf shapes in the parametric leaf space. Expand
The Research of Leaves Characteristics
The classification of leaves and the shapes of leaves related to the leaf characteristics, such as the aspect ratio is the main judgement standard of a leaf. Now, we collect the data of the leavesExpand

Vascular patterning and leaf shape.
TLDR
Current analyses of mutant phenotypes provide strong support for the role of auxin signaling in vascular pattern formation and indicate that leaf shape and vasculature are developmentally coupled. Expand
Venation pattern formation in Arabidopsis thaliana vegetative leaves.
TLDR
The developmental profile of venation pattern formation in vegetative leaves of a wild-type strain of the model organism Arabidopsis thaliana is studied and it is concluded that such a phenotype is rare, since only one recessive mutation was obtained, extrahydathodes, characterized by the presence of an increased number of hydathodes per leaf. Animating plant growth in L‐system by parametric functional symbols
TLDR
An animating system for plant growth in the Lindenmayer (L) system in which alphabets are parameterized to the length, size, and position of each component of the plant is proposed. Expand

Analysis of the definition of the relative elemental rate of growth of a line element, RERG1, in a growing plant organ leads to the dyadic ∇V where V is the vector field of displacement velocities ofExpand

TLDR
A new method for sampling by dart-throwing in O(N log N) time is presented and a novel and efficient variation for generating Poisson-disk distributions in O (N) time and space is introduced. Expand

Modeling and visualization of leaf venation patterns
TLDR
A class of biologically-motivated algorithms for generating leaf venation patterns that simulate the interplay between three processes, including development of veins towards hormone (auxin) sources embedded in the leaf blade, and modification of both the vein pattern and source distribution by leaf growth.
