Abstract The editor of the Horvath ʿUzza ostracon, I. Beit-Arieh, read and interpreted the text as a business or legal document addressed to a certain Gedaliahu. F. M. Cross recognized its literary character but offered a fragmentary translation that made hardly any sense.
