AbstractUnenhanced imagery recorded by the multi-spectral scanner (MSS)of the NASA Earth Resources Technology Satellite (ERTS-1) was analyzedto determine how satellite imagery may be applied to specific coastalengineering problems. The study area of interest is a segment of theNorth Carolina coast comprising Wrightsville Beach, Masonboro Inlet,Masonboro Beach, Carolina Beach Inlet and Carolina Beach, which are areasof on-going research by CERC.
