This paper explores some of the complexity in the recording of the --ORRES variable in the Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM) domains. It offers the idea that properly valuing --ORRES variables is difficult because there is a logical link among five characteristics surrounding how an ORRES value was collected, and values in a “logical cascade” of fourteen other variables. This paper explores the relationships surrounding –ORRES and the resulting rules for valuing –ORRES and the fourteen other variables in the –ORRES “logical cascade”.
