  • The enhancement of building automation systems (BAS) offers the opportunity for a large reduction in the energy demand of buildings. This paper presents an algorithm for exergy-based model predictive control for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. We use simulations and a real HVAC system to demonstrate its performance. A key feature of the algorithm is the decomposition of complex building-supplysystem-models into subsystems.
