Multiwavelength observations of the black hole X-ray binary XTE J1118+480 have offered abundant spectral and timing information about the source and have thus provided serious challenges to theoretical models. We propose a coupled accretion-jet model to interpret the observations. We model the accretion flow as an outer standard thin accretion disk truncated at a transition radius by an inner hot accretion flow. The accretion flow accounts for the observed UVand X-ray emission, but it… Expand

Constraining jet/disc geometry and radiative processes in stellar black holes XTE J1118+480 and GX 339−4
We present results from modelling of quasi-simultaneous broad-band (radio through X-ray) observations of the Galactic stellar black hole (BH) transient X-ray binary (XRB) systems XTE J1118+480 and GXExpand
Simultaneous multiwavelength observations were recently performed for three black hole candidates-SWIFT J1753.5-0127, GRO J1655-40, and XTE J1720-318. In this paper, we test the accretion-jet modelExpand
Warping of an accretion disc and launching of a jet by a spinning black hole in NGC 4258

Spectral Models for Low-luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei in LINERs: The Role of Advection-dominated Accretion and Jets

Modelling Spectral and Timing Properties of Accreting Black Holes: The Hybrid Hot Flow Paradigm
The general picture that emerged by the end of 1990s from a large set of optical and X-ray, spectral and timing data was that the X-rays are produced in the innermost hot part of the accretion flow,Expand

Jet-dominated quiescent state in black hole X-ray binaries: the cases of A0620--00 and XTE J1118+480
The radiative mechanism of the black hole X-ray transients (BHXTs) in their quiescent states (defined as the 2-10 keV X-ray luminosity $\le 10^{34}{\rm \,erg\,s^{-1}}$) remains unclear. In this work,Expand
Hot accretion flow with radiative cooling: state transitions in black hole X-ray binaries
We investigate state transitions in black hole X-ray binaries through different parameters by using two-dimensional axisymmetric hydrodynamical simulation method. For radiative cooling in hotExpand
Jets and the accretion flow in low-luminosity black holes
The X-ray spectra of black hole binaries (BHB) in the low/hard state (LHS) first harden as the flux decreases, then soften. This change in behaviour has been variously attributed to either the X-raysExpand

A scheme to unify low-power accreting black holes Jet-dominated accretion flows and the radio/X-ray correlation
We explore the evolution in power of black holes of all masses, and their associated jets, within the scheme of an accretion rate-dependent state transition. Below a critical value of the accretionExpand
Jet–disc coupling through a common energy reservoir in the black hole XTE J1118+480
We interpret the rapid correlated ultraviolet/optical/X-ray variability of XTE J1118+480 as a signature of the coupling between the X-ray corona and a jet emitting synchrotron radiation in theExpand

Luminous hot accretion flows: the origin of X-ray emission from Seyfert galaxies and black hole binaries
We investigate accretion disc models for the X-ray emission of type 1 Seyfert galaxies and the hard state of black hole binaries. We concentrate on two hot accretion disc models: advectiondominatedExpand
Exploring the role of jets in the radio/X-ray correlations of GX 339-4
The Galactic black hole candidate X-ray binary GX 339−4 spends most of its time in the low/hard state, making it an ideal candidate for modeling the assumedly low accretion phase. The radio emissionExpand
