We study N = (N, 0) super-Poincaré invariant six-dimensional massless and five-dimensional massive on-shell amplitudes. We demonstrate that in six dimensions, all possible three-point amplitudes involving tensor multiplets are necessarily embedded in gravitational theories. For nongravitational amplitudes we consider instead five-dimensional massive amplitudes with N = (2, 0) supersymmetry, aiming at describing the world volume theory of multiple M5 branes compactified on M4,1 × S1. We find non…

M5-brane and D-brane scattering amplitudes

A bstractWe present tree-level n-particle on-shell scattering amplitudes of various brane theories with 16 conserved supercharges. These include the world-volume theory of a probe D3-brane or

Non-Abelian tensor towers and (2,0) superconformal theories

A bstractWith the aim to study six-dimensional (2, 0) superconformal theories with non-Abelian tensor multiplets we propose a five-dimensional superconformal action with eight supersymmetries for an

Aspects of effective theory for multiple M5-branes compactified on circle

A bstractA supersymmetric non-Abelian self-dual gauge theory with the explicit introduction of Kaluza-Klein modes is proposed to give a classical description of multiple M5-branes on ℝ5×S1$$

Exact coefficients for higher dimensional operators with sixteen supersymmetries

A bstractWe consider constraints on higher-dimensional operators for supersymmetric effective field theories. In four dimensions with maximal supersymmetry and SU(4) R-symmetry, we demonstrate that

Non-abelian self-dual string solutions

A bstractWe consider the equations of motion of the non-abelian 5-branes theory recently constructed in [1] and find exact string solutions both for uncompactified and compactified spacetime.

Lorentz constraints on massive three-point amplitudes

A bstractUsing the helicity-spinor language we explore the non-perturbative constraints that Lorentz symmetry imposes on three-point amplitudes where the asymptotic states can be massive. As it is

5D Yang-Mills instantons from ABJM Monopoles

In the presence of a background supergravity flux, N M2-branes will expand via the Myers effect into M5-branes wrapped on a fuzzy three-sphere. In previous work the fluctuations of the M2-branes were

The conformal anomaly of M5-branes

A bstractWe show that the conformal anomaly for N M5-branes grows like N3. The method we employ relates Coulomb branch interactions in six dimensions to interactions in four dimensions using

On the amplitudes in N=(1,1) D=6 SYM

We consider the on-shell amplitudes in N=(1,1) SYM in D=6 dimensions within the spinor helicity and on-shell superspace formalism. This leads to an effective and straightforward technique reducing

Amplitudes of 3D and 6D maximal superconformal theories in supertwistor space

We use supertwistor space to construct scattering amplitudes of maximal superconformal theories in three and six dimensions. In both cases, the constraints of super-conformal invariance and

(1,0) superconformal models in six dimensions

A bstractWe construct six-dimensional (1,0) superconformal models with non-abelian gauge couplings for multiple tensor multiplets. A crucial ingredient in the construction is the introduction of

M5-Branes, D4-Branes and quantum 5D super-Yang-Mills

We revisit the relation of the six-dimensional (2, 0) M5-brane Conformal Field Theory compactified on S1 to 5D maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills Gauge Theory. We show that in the broken phase 5D

Matter and Gauge Couplings of N=2 Supergravity in Six-Dimensions

Next-to-simplest quantum field theories

We describe new on-shell recursion relations for tree amplitudes in N=1 and N=2 gauge theories and use these to show that the structure of the one-loop S-matrix in pure (i.e. without any matter) N=1

On D = 5 super Yang-Mills theory and (2, 0) theory

We discuss how D = 5 maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory (MSYM) might be used to study or even to define the (2, 0) theory in six dimensions. It is known that the compactification of (2, 0)

Superconformal symmetry and maximal supergravity in various dimensions

A bstractIn this paper we explore the relation between conformal superalgebras with 64 supercharges and maximal supergravity theories in three, four and six dimensions using twistorial oscillator

Amplitudes and Spinor-Helicity in Six Dimensions

The spinor-helicity formalism has become an invaluable tool for understanding the S-matrix of massless particles in four dimensions. In this paper we construct a spinor-helicity formalism in six

Supertwistor space for 6D maximal super Yang-Mills

Abstract6 dimensional maximal super Yang-Mills on-shell amplitudes are formulated in superspace using 6 dimensional spinors. The 3,4,5-point tree amplitudes are obtained by supersymmetrizing their

On tree amplitudes in gauge theory and gravity

The BCFW recursion relations provide a powerful way to compute tree amplitudes in gauge theories and gravity, but only hold if some amplitudes vanish when two of the momenta are taken to infinity in
