We evaluated genomic fingerprinting procedure based on amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) to investigate genetic relatedness and it`s application with seventeen strains of Bacillus anthracis and closely related species. On the basis of AFLP fingerprints , all tested strains of B. anthracis were nearly identical , clustering together at a Jaccard similarity coefficient of 92% (cophenetic value , 0.9689) , and could be divided into 6 different closely related species.
