DNA of hepatitis B virus is found to be integrated into the genome of infected human liver cells and may be related to the development of primary liver carcinoma. We have previously reported the cloning of cellular DNA with integrated HBV sequences from the PLC/PRF/5 cell line which derives from a human primary liver carcinoma.
