Increasingly longer balloon inflation times during coronary angioplasty can create significant left ventricular ischemia, amelioration of which was attempted in this study using nitroglycerin. Hemodynamic variables were assessed during inflation of an angioplasty balloon in the proximal left anterior descending coronary artery of 10 patients.
