In Arum and soybean (Glycine max L.) mitochondria, the dependence of the alternative oxidase activity on the redox level of ubiquinone, with NADH and succinate as substrates, was studied, using a voltametric procedure to measure the ubiquinone redox poise in the mitochondrial membrane.
