We examined whether insulin resistance alters the function of ATP-dependent and Ca(2+)-activated K(+) channels (K(ATP) and K(Ca) channels, respectively) in pressurized isolated middle cerebral arteries (MCAs) from fructose-fed insulin-resistant (IR) and control rats.
