Alpha-fetoprotein and human chorionic gonadotropin levels were measured by radioimmunoassays in 260 patients with genitourinary diseases, including 93 patients with testicular tumors. Elevations of alpha-fetoprotein and human chorionic gonadotropin were associated only with non-seminomatous germ cell testicular tumors.
