An all-optical XNOR gate is theoretically implemented using for the first time a quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier-based Mach-Zehnder interferometer. By conducting numerical simulation the feasibility of the proposed scheme is demonstrated for return-to-zero data pulses at 160 Gb/s and a suitable choice of values for the critical parameters is specified that allows XNOR logic to be executed with high performance at this ultrafast bit rate.
