All-Optical Sampling System using Nonlinear Optical Loop Mirror with Soliton Self-Frequency Shifted Control Pulses

We have demonstrated all-optical sampling using nonlinear loop-mirror and soliton self-frequency shifted control pulses at 1600-nm obtained from a figure-8 laser. A 10-GHz picosecond pulse train is successfully sampled and its pulse shape is characterized.
