As part of a study on biological aspects of thermal pollution, experiments with green algae in lightlimited continuous culture were performed. Continuous culture has obvious advantages over batch culture. In continuous culture, the algae can be studied in a steady state, which implies that the composi t ionof both biomass and culture medium is constant.
