To provide data for comparisons with sleep patterns in human adulthood, the amount of sleep per day, the percentage of REM sleep, the length of sleep bouts, and the amplitude of the sleep EEG were assessed at several age levels in male rats aged 104–1005 days who were chronically implanted for EEG and EMG recordings.
