1. Strains of Phytomonas stewarti that differed in virulence, colony type, physiology, and agglutination reaction were tested for ability to absorb agglutinins from immune sera. All the strains tested absorbed most of the agglutinins from both homologous and heterologous sera, indicating that they were similar in most essentials. The failure of some strains to agglutinate after absorbing agglutinins was apparently due to their resistance to this reaction. 2. Some differences were observed… Expand
