Afterword: Genitals are history
@article{Morland2018AfterwordGA, title={Afterword: Genitals are history}, author={Iain Morland}, journal={postmedieval}, year={2018}, volume={9}, pages={209-215} }
This afterword explores the spatial and temporal aspects of intersex medical treatment by juxtaposing the contemporary intersex body against the medieval Hereford mappa mundi. Taking inspiration from how the map records the touches of mapmakers on animal vellum, the essay argues for a non-representational understanding of the postsurgical intersex body as a record of medical touches that try to make intersex disappear.
