A novel actinomycete strain, designated HSW-1T, was isolated from seawater collected from Hwasun Beach on the coast of Jeju Island, Republic of Korea. The cells were aerobic, Gram-positive, oxidase-negative, catalase-positive, non-motile rods. The colonies were circular, smooth, convex and yellow in colour. The cell-wall peptidoglycan of this organism contained ll-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid. The polar lipids included phosphatidylinositol, diphosphatidylglycerol…

Description of the erythromycin-producing bacterium Arthrobacter sp. strain NRRL B-3381 as Aeromicrobium erythreum gen. nov., sp. nov.
TLDR
The principal long-chain fatty acids which were identified that distinguished strain NRRL B-3381T from related G + C-rich bacteria were 10-methyloctadecanoic (tuberculosteric), octadecenoic, and hexadecanoIC acids, which form the basis for the recommendation that strain NR RL B- 3381 should be the type strain of a new taxon, for which the name Aeromicrobium erythreum is proposed.
