In ebenen Flugformationen von Vögeln tritt bei den in der Natur beobachteten geringen Abständen der einzelnen Individuen eine beträchtliche Leistungsersparnis auf, die infolge aerodynamischer Beeinflussung zustande kommt. Durch Versuchsflüge mit zwei Flugzeugen vom Typ DO-28 wurde gezeigt, daß diese auf Grund aerodynamischer Berechnungen vorhergesagte Energieersparnis tatsächlich auch erflogen werden kann.
