OBJECTIVE Although Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is an effective treatment for severe obesity, weight loss (WL) after this operation is highly variable. Accurate predictors of outcome would thus be useful in identifying those patients who would most benefit from this invasive therapy.
