Sarcoidosis is an uncommon disease of granulomatous inflammation. Genetic predisposition to sarcoidosis is indicated by observations of familial clustering, increased concordance in monozygotic twins over other siblings, and variations in susceptibility and disease presentation among different ethnic groups.
