Advanced cardiac imaging, using cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and multidetector computed tomography (CT), is increasingly used in the work-up of athletes with suspected abnormalities on screening. Both imaging modalities produce highly accurate and reproducible structural and functional cardiac information.
