Advanced placement in Computer Science (panel session): college level computer science in the high schools

Abstract

Many of the future members of our profession will receive their first formal training in computer science while they are high school students. The computer science courses taught in our secondary schools will have a significant influence on the attitudes and career choices of students. The Advanced Placement Examination in Computer Science is today one of the most important influences on secondary school computer science instruction.
