A novel method was conducted to modify activated sludge with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CB) to obtain an adsorbent to remove aqueous nitrobenzene. The adsorption characteristics of nitrobenzene onto modified activated sludge (MAS) were investigated, by contrast with those of unmodified activated sludge (UMAS).
