Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rat is an animal model for type 2 diabetes mellitus. In the present study, we investigated whether pharmacologic doses of biotin have the potential to abate insulin resistance in the skeletal muscles of OLETF rats.
