Adjuvant therapy with the third-generation aromatase inhibitors (AIs) anastrozole, letrozole, and exemestane has largely replaced the use of tamoxifen (TAM) as standard adjuvant endocrine treatment for postmenopausal women with hormone-sensitive early breast cancer.
