Adjustments to McConville et al. and Young et al. body segment inertial parameters.

Inertial properties of hominoid limb segments

It is found that segment inertial properties show extensive overlap between ape genera as a result of large interindividual variation, and hominoid limbs are not optimized for efficiency in quadrupedal walking, but rather reflect a compromise between various locomotor modes.

Thorax and abdomen body segment inertial parameters adjusted from McConville et al. and Young et al.

An update of the adjustment procedure to obtain the BSIPs of the thorax and abdomen segments is presented and the thoracic joint centre is obtained by interpolation based on literature data and allows the computation of the relevant abdomen and thorax segment coordinate systems and segment lengths.

Identification of the contribution of contact and aerial biomechanical parameters in acrobatic performance

Findings suggest that novices should be coached on both contact and aerial technique, and mainly improved aerial technique helped advanced gymnasts increase their performance.

Amputee locomotion: determining the inertial properties of running-specific prostheses.

Torso Segment Parameter Prediction in Working Adults

This study aims to provide statistical models for predicting torso segment parameters in working adults using whole body dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan data along with a set of anthropometric measurements to greatly increase the accuracy in predicting BSPs.

Joint center longitudinal positions computed from a selected subset of Chandler's data.

The use of a method for accurately locating joint centers is recommended, particularly when they are used as reference points for defining a personalized geometrical model of a subject's body.

Weight, volume, and center of mass of segments of the human body

Weight, volume, and center of mass of 14 segments of the body were determined on 13 male cadavers and descriptive statistics of these variables as well as a series of regression equations predicting these parameters from anthropometry are presented.

Mass and Inertia

DR. LODGE (NATURE, January 17, p. 270) seems to have misunderstood the bearing of my letter on mass and inertia (January 10, p. 248).
