Abstract We present a system composed of two flux qubits and a transmission-line resonator. Instead of using the rotating wave approximation (RWA), we analyze the system by the adiabatic approximation methods under two opposite extreme conditions. Basic properties of the system are calculated and compared under these two different conditions. Relative energy-level spectrum of the system in the adiabatic displaced oscillator basis is shown, and the theoretical result is compared with the… Expand

Quantum coherence, correlations and nonclassical states in the two-qubit Rabi model with parametric oscillator
Quantum coherence and quantum correlations are studied in the strongly interacting system composed of two qubits and an oscillator with the presence of a parametric medium. To analytically solve theExpand
Evolution of the entanglement of the N00N-type of states in a coupled two cavity system via an adiabatic approximation
We study a system of two cavities each encapsulating a qubit and an oscillator degrees of freedom. An ultrastrong interaction strength between the qubit and the oscillator is assumed, and the photonsExpand

Qubit-oscillator systems in the ultrastrong-coupling regime and their potential for preparing nonclassical states
We consider a system composed of a two-level system (i.e., a qubit) and a harmonic oscillator in the ultrastrong-coupling regime, where the coupling strength is comparable to the qubit and oscillatorExpand
Vacuum degeneracy of a circuit QED system in the ultrastrong coupling regime.
The ultrastrong coupling asymptotic expression of the two degenerate vacua for an arbitrary number of artificial atoms and of resonator modes is determined and the degeneracy is protected with respect to random fluctuations of the transition energies of the Josephson elements. Expand
Switchable ultrastrong coupling in circuit QED.
We propose different designs of switchable coupling between a superconducting flux qubit and a microwave transmission line. They are based on two or more loops of Josephson junctions which areExpand
Dynamics of a two-level system strongly coupled to a high-frequency quantum oscillator
Recent experiments on quantum behavior in microfabricated solid-state systems suggest tantalizing connections to quantum optics. Several of these experiments address the prototypical problem ofExpand
Deep strong coupling regime of the Jaynes-Cummings model.
This work proposes an intuitive and predictive physical frame to describe the DSC regime where photon number wave packets bounce back and forth along parity chains of the Hilbert space, while producing collapse and revivals of the initial population. Expand

A generalized version of the rotating-wave approximation for the single-mode spin-boson Hamiltonian is presented. It is shown that performing a simple change of basis prior to eliminating theExpand
High-fidelity readout in circuit quantum electrodynamics using the Jaynes-Cummings nonlinearity.
A qubit readout scheme that exploits the Jaynes-Cummings nonlinearity of a superconducting cavity coupled to transmon qubits is demonstrated and there is the unexpected onset of a high-transmission "bright" state at a critical power which depends sensitively on the initial qubit state. Expand
Ultrastrong coupling regime of cavity QED with phase-biased flux qubits
We theoretically study a circuit QED architecture based on a superconducting flux qubit directly coupled to the center conductor of a coplanar waveguide transmission-line resonator. As already shownExpand
Generation of Fock states in a superconducting quantum circuit
This work uses a superconducting phase qubit, which is a close approximation to a two-level spin system, coupled to a microwave resonator, which acts as a harmonic oscillator, to prepare and analyse pure Fock states with up to six photons. Expand
Demonstration of a single-photon router in the microwave regime.
This work embedded an artificial atom, a superconducting transmon qubit, in an open transmission line and investigated the strong scattering of incident microwave photons, using two-tone spectroscopy to study scattering from excited states and electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). Expand
