This study investigated improvements in pre-hospital care for patients with acute exacerbated chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (aeCOPD) achieved by using a standard operating procedure (SOP). An SOP for pre-hospital treatment of patients with aeCOPD was designed based on valid national guidelines.
