Daphnia is a freshwater microcrustacean that integrates the zooplankton. Different species are cultivated in the laboratory and used as model organisms in several areas of research. The feeding based of this organism is algae, however, several approaches have been developed in order to infer a diet that improves the performance of this organism in the laboratory.
