RNase protection assays were used in a comparative analysis of the quantities of mRNA for five "calcium-sensitive" (types I, III, V, VI, and VIII) adenylyl cyclases and one "calcium-insensitive" (type II) adenylyl cyclase in mouse cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and nucleus accumbens.
