This paper presents an Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO) approach for solving the Optimal Reactive Power Planning (ORPP) problem. Generator bus voltage magnitudes, transformer tap settings and reactive power generation of capacitor bank are taken as the control variables.
