Adaptive α-β-filter for Target Tracking Using Real Time Genetic Algorithm

Abstract

It is known that the α-β-filter is an efficient-simple estimation scheme for the motion control. However, the estimation performance heavily depends on the parameters α and β values. This paper presents a fast real-time genetic algorithm (GA) to adapt αβ filter. In the proposed method, the parameters α and β values are adjusted in real-time by GA to meet some specifications. The simulation results demonstrate that the adaptive α-β filters is able to track the maneuvering targets and, at the same time, reducing the bias disturbances that produced from the sudden accelerations remarkably.
