The dimannoside (PIM2) and hexamannoside (PIM6) phosphatidyl-myo-inositol mannosides are the two most abundant classes of PIM found in Mycobacterium bovis bacillus Calmette Guérin, Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv, and Mycobacterium smegmatis 607.
