Inflammatory stimuli and lipid peroxidation activate nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) and upregulate proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines. The present study evaluated the relationship between pathological liver injury, endotoxemia, lipid peroxidation, and NF-kappaB activation and imbalance between pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines.
