OBJECTIVES To compare activated coagulation time (ACT) management directed by a single ACT determination to that of the average of two simultaneously obtained ACT values. DESIGN Prospective study. SETTING Cardiac operating rooms of a university hospital. PARTICIPANTS Patients undergoing surgery requiring cardiopulmonary bypass.
