In the arcuate nucleus, the growth hormone (GH) secretagogue (GHS)-responsive cells include a subpopulation of the neuropeptide Y (NPY) neurones. It is not known whether these include the orexigenic NPY population that are inhibited by the satiety hormone, leptin.
