Case description: We report two male patients with acquired inability to sweat. One noticed this during military training, the other after a period of intense exercise. Clinical findings: Neither of them had stigmata of ectodermal dysplasia or evidence of autonomic dysfunction. In case no.1, a biopsy revealed that sweat glands were present in the finger, a sweat duct was seen in the forearm skin, but no sweat glands or ducts were seen in the thigh skin specimen. No lymphocyte infiltrate was…

Generalized anhidrosis associated with Fabry's disease.
Idiopathic acquired generalized anhidrosis due to occlusion of proximal coiled ducts
TLDR
The findings suggested that the acquired generalized anhidrosis in this patient was caused by occlusion of the coiled ducts by a PAS‐positive substance probably derived from dark cell granules.
Acquired generalized hypohidrosis/anhidrosis with subclinical Sjögren's syndrome: report of a case with diffuse syringolymphoid hyperplasia and lymphocytic sialadenitis.
TLDR
Pathologic study of affected skin revealed unique syringolymphoid hyperplasia with T cell infiltration, suggesting a T cell-mediated autoimmune disease in a young woman suffering from heat intolerance and progressive loss of sweating.
Equine anhidrosis: A review of pathophysiologic mechanisms
Anhidrosis is loss of the ability to sweat. The problem is seen in horses kept in a hot humid climate, and it may cause severe impairment of thermoregulation in the equine athlete. British
Successful steroid treatment of acquired idiopathic partial hypohidrosis
TLDR
It is reported a 34‐year‐old man with acquired idiopathic hypohidrosis successfully treated with prednisolone, and Eccrine sweat glands displayed infiltration by inflammatory cells, with immunoglobulin G and C3 deposition in the basement membrane.
Anhidrosis associated with hypothalamic lesions related to anti-aquaporin 4 autoantibody
TLDR
The patient was diagnosed with NMO spectrum disorders having narcolepsy and anhidrosis, secondary to hypothalamic lesions associated with anti-AQP4 antibody, and treated with intravenous methylprednisolone for 3 days, followed by oral prednisolia for a few days.
Immunolocalization of aquaporin-5 expression in sweat gland cells from normal and anhidrotic horses.
TLDR
The level of AQP-5 expression was substantially reduced in animals with long-term anhidrosis, hence implicating water channel impairment as a possible factor in the development of this disorder.
