Since the echo is generated by passing the signals x l ( f ) , x 2 ( t ) through the impulse responses h l ( t ) and h2(r) , respectively, it is clear that a replica of the echo can be generated as shown in the figure. One might argue that any one of tlie signals x1 or x 2 should suffice, since the two are completely coherent (being filtered versions of the same input signal).
