We present [Fe/H] abundance results that involve a sample of stars with a wide range in luminosity, from luminous giants to stars near the turnoff in a globular cluster. Our sample of 25 stars in M71 includes 10 giant stars more luminous than the RHB, three horizontal branch stars, nine giant stars less luminous than the RHB, and three stars near the turnoff. We analyzed both Fe I and Fe II lines in high-dispersion spectra observed with HIRES at the W. M. Keck Observatory. We find that the [Fe…
Abundances in Stars from the Red Giant Branch Tip to Near the Main-Sequence Turnoff in M71. III. Abundance Ratios
We present abundance ratios for 23 elements with respect to Fe in a sample of stars with a wide range in luminosity, from luminous giants to stars near the turnoff in a globular cluster. Our sample
Abundances in Stars from the Red Giant Branch Tip to near the Main-Sequence Turnoff in M5
We present the iron abundance and abundance ratios for 18 elements with respect to Fe in a sample of stars with a wide range in luminosity, from luminous giants to stars near the turnoff in the
Abundances in a Large Sample of Stars in M3 and M13
We have carried out a detailed abundance analysis for 21 elements in a sample of 25 stars with a wide range in luminosity from luminous giants to stars near the main-sequence turnoff in the globular
Chemical Composition in the Globular Cluster M71 from Keck HIRES Spectra of Turnoff Stars
We have made observations with the Keck I telescope and HIRES at a resolution of ~45,000 of five nearly identical stars at the turnoff of the metal-rich globular cluster M71. We derive stellar
Abundances in Stars from the Red Giant Branch Tip to Near the Main-Sequence Turnoff in M71. I. Sample Selection, Observing Strategy, and Stellar Parameters
We present the sample for an abundance analysis of 25 members of M71, with luminosities ranging from the red giant branch tip to the upper main sequence. The spectra are of high dispersion and of
IDENTIFYING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE STELLAR HALO FROM ACCRETED, KICKED-OUT, AND IN SITU POPULATIONS
We present a medium-resolution spectroscopic survey of late-type giant stars at mid-Galactic latitudes of (30° < |b| < 60°), designed to probe the properties of this population to distances of ∼9
Abundances In Very Metal-Poor Dwarf Stars
We discuss the detailed composition of 28 extremely metal-poor (EMP) dwarfs, 22 of which are from the Hamburg/ESO Survey (HES), based on Keck echelle spectra. Our sample has a median [Fe/H] of -2.7
Outer Versus Inner Halo Globular Clusters: NGC 7492 Abundances
We have carried out a detailed abundance analysis for 21 elements in a sample of four RGB stars in the outer halo globular cluster NGC 7492 (RGC 25 kpc); we find [Fe/H] = -1.82 dex inferred from Fe I
Palomar 12 as a Part of the Sagittarius Stream: The Evidence from Abundance Ratios
We present a detailed abundance analysis for 21 elements based on high-dispersion, high spectral resolution Keck spectra for four members of the outer halo "young" Galactic globular cluster Palomar

Stellar Iron Abundances: Non-LTE Effects
We report new statistical equilibrium calculations for Fe I and Fe II in the atmosphere of late-type stars. We used atomic models for Fe I and Fe II having, respectively, 256 and 190 levels, as well
High resolution CCD spectra of stars in globular clusters. Part 2: Metals and CNO in M71
Palomar coude CCD spectra of resolution 0.3 and 0.6 has been used to redetermine abundances in five stars of the relatively metal rich globular cluster M71. The (Fe/H) value is restricted to the
Abundances in globular cluster red giants. II. M92 and M15.
A detailed abundance analysis is performed for four stars in M92 and two stars in Ml5 by using LTE line-blanketed model atmospheres. The deduced result of [Fe/H] with respect to the Sun is —2.35 for
Keck HIRES Spectroscopy of M92 Subgiants: Surprising Abundances near the Turnoff
Using high-resolution, moderate signal-to-noise ratio spectroscopy obtained with the 10 m Keck I Telescope and efficient HIRES echelle spectrograph, we derive abundances of several elements in
The O-Na and Mg-Al anticorrelations in turn-off and early subgiants in globular clusters
High dispersion spectra (R > 40 000) for a quite large number of stars at the main sequence turn-o and at the base of the giant branch in NGC 6397 and NGC 6752 were obtained with the UVES on Kueyen
Oxygen abundances in halo giants. I : giants in the very metal-poor globular clusters M92 and M15 and the metal-poor halo field
We derive oxygen, iron, vanadium, and scandium abundances for very metal-poor giants in the globular clusters M92 and M15, and giants of comparable metallicity in the local halo field. We analyze the
