author={Erlei Cassiano Keppeler and Elsa Rodrigues Hardy},
  journal={Revista Brasileira De Zoologia},
The rotifer community in Lago Amapa (abandoned meander lake of the Rio Acre floodplain) was investigated with respect to seasonal changes. Sampling was performed at three collection stations, generally weekly, during the dry season between May 8, 1997 and October 31, 1997, and during the rainy season between January 2, 1998 and February 24, 1998. The density and composition of rotifer species (48 taxons of rotifers) were determined, and their diversity and abundance were observed to be greater…

Biodiversity down by the flow: new records of monogonont rotifers for Italy found in the Po River

Results of the present study underline the still unsatisfactory status of present biogeographical knowledge on monogonont rotifers and the need for detailed taxonomic surveys in order to improve the understanding of the ecology and distributional patterns of this group.

Rotifer Communities in the Cambodian Mekong River Basins

One hundred and twenty eight species belonging to 30 genera were found, 125 of which are new records for Cambodia, the highest species diversity was found in Chorchork swamp of Prey Veng Province with 51 species.

The art status of rotifer studies in natural environments of South America: floodplains

The present study aimed to carry out a compilation concerning the art status of rotifer studies in natural environments of South America, with distinction to floodplains. This compilation was carried

The impact of impoundment on the rotifer communities in two tropical floodplain environments: interannual pulse variations.

Reductions in the frequency, intensity and amplitude of potamophase pulses after the Porto Primavera impoundment led to the decrease in species richness and the increases in abundance, community stability, and species diversity, which determine community resilience.

Zooplankton diversity in Acre state, Amazon, Brazil: an overview of previous studies

Abstract: This work assesses current knowledge of zooplankton biodiversity in aquatic ecosystems of the state of Acre (Brazil). A bibliographic survey was undertaken, showing that most of the

Regions with high biodiversity such as the small rivers at the High Jurua, Serra do Divisor National Park, state of Acre, are part of the existing tropical richness. However, the ecosystems in these

A checklist for the zooplankton of the Middle Xingu - an Amazon River system.

A zooplankton checklist is presented for the Middle Xingu River, based on surveys conducted at four sites in the main channel and two fluvial lakes. A total of 175 taxa are listed, including 141

Effects of lateral connectivity on zooplankton community structure in floodplain lakes

Hydrological conditions are responsible for the changes in lateral connectivity between the main river channel and the floodplain lakes, a factor controlling zooplankton abundance and diversity. We

Vertical distribution of zooplankton in the water column of Lago Amapá, Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil

The aim of investigation was to study the model of vertical distribution in Lago Amapa, taking into consideration the seasonality of its zooplanktonic composition, and showed characteristics in line with the intermediate disturbance hypothesis model.

Community structure of rotifers in two environments of the upper River Paraná floodplain (MS) - Brazil

We evaluate the influence of abiotic and biotic factors on the community structure of rotifers across a regional hydrological cycle in lotic and lentic environments of the upper River Paraná. Depth,
