We report diffuse reflection imaging in air of concealed powdered samples using a terahertz quantum cascade laser. The sensitivity of the detection scheme to sub-surface absorption within samples is confirmed using fully-characterized powdered admixtures of polystyrene and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
