After the discovery of the Higgs particle the most relevant structures of the SM have been verified and for the first time we know all parameters of the SM within remarkable accuracy. Together with recent calculations of the SM renormalization group coefficients up to three loops we can safely extrapolate running couplings high up in energy. Assuming that the SM is a low energy effective theory of a cutoff theory residing at the Planck scale, we are able to calculate the effective bare… Expand

The Standard Model of Particle Physics as a Conspiracy Theory and the Possible Role of the Higgs Boson in the Evolution of the Early Universe
I am considering Veltman’s “The Infrared Ultraviolet Connection” addressing the issue of quadratic divergences and the related huge radiative correction predicted by the electroweak Standard ModelExpand
A Higgs Boson Composed of Gauge Bosons
It is proposed to replace the Higgs boson of the standard model by a Lorentz- and gauge-invariant combination of SU(2) gauge bosons. A pair of Higgs bosons is identified with pairs of gauge bosons byExpand
Emergent gauge symmetries and particle physics
Hadron properties and interactions are emergent from QCD. Atomic and condensed matter physics are emergent from QED. Could the local gauge symmetries of particle physics also be emergent? We give anExpand

The hierarchy problem of the electroweak Standard Model revisited
A careful renormalization group analysis of the electroweak Standard Model, considered as a low energy effective theory, reveals that there is no hierarchy problem in the broken phase of the SM. InExpand
