Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder associated with the appearance of cytoplasmic Lewy bodies (LBs) in dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra and the progressive loss of these neurons. Cytoskeleton alterations and associated impairments of neuronal transport may contribute to neuronal death.
