Tropical dry forests represent nearly half the trop ical forests in the world and are the ecosystems re gist ring the greatest deterioration from the anthropogenic explo itation of the land. This paper presents a review o n the dynamics of tropical dry forests regeneration and t he main abiotic factors influencing this regenerati on, such as seasonal nature, soil fertility and humidity, and n atural and anthropic disturbances.
