Cloned mice derived from somatic or ES cells show placental overgrowth (placentomegaly) at term. We had previously analyzed cloned and normal mouse placentae by using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry to identify differential protein expression patterns. Cloned placentae showed upregulation of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2), which is involved in extracellular matrix degradation and tissue remodeling, and downregulation of pre-B cell colony enhancing… Expand
Therapeutic targeting of oncogenic transcription factors by natural products in eye cancer
TLDR
This review summarizes the current findings of natural products in targeting specific oncogenic transcription factors in various types of eye cancer. Expand

Aberrant protein expression in the placenta of cloned mouse derived from embryonic stem cell.
Placentomegaly is a common phenotype in cloned mice. To assess differences in protein expression between placentae of cloned and uncloned mice, we used a proteomic approach involving 2-dimensionalExpand
Abnormal expression of TIMP-2, SOD, vimentin and PAI proteins in cloned bovine placentae.
TLDR
Western blot analysis suggests that key proteins of placental development are abnormally expressed in SCNT cloned bovine placentae, probably resulting in abnormal placental function and clonal mortality. Expand
Epigenetic characterization of the PBEF and TIMP-2 genes in the developing placentae of normal mice.
TLDR
It is suggested that epigenetic changes may regulate gene expression level in the developing placentae of normal mice and that inappropriate epigenetic reprogramming might be one cause of the abnormal placenta seen in cloned animals. Expand
Expression and function of matrix metalloproteinases and their inhibitors at the maternal-embryonic boundary during mouse embryo implantation.
TLDR
It is concluded that administration of MMP inhibitors retards decidual remodeling and growth, and it is suggested that the MMPs expressed in precursor stromal cells promote their differentiation and expansion. Expand
The Sall3 locus is an epigenetic hotspot of aberrant DNA methylation associated with placentomegaly of cloned mice
TLDR
It is concluded that the Sall3 locus is the area with frequent epigenetic errors in cloned mice, suggesting that there exists at least genetic locus that is highly susceptible to epigenetic error caused by nuclear transfer. Expand
Pre-B-cell colony-enhancing factor, a novel cytokine of human fetal membranes.
TLDR
PBEF is a novel cytokine constitutively expressed by the fetal membranes during pregnancy and increased the expression of IL-6 and IL-8 and may be important in both normal spontaneous labor and infection-induced preterm labor. Expand
Variation in Gene Expression and Aberrantly Regulated Chromosome Regions in Cloned Mice1
TLDR
DNA microarray analysis was used to determine the precise genome-wide gene expression profiles of somatic cloned mice derived from Sertoli and cumulus cells and identified several chromosome regions in which gene expression was aberrantly controlled in the somatic clones. Expand
Expression and activity of matrix metalloproteinase 2 and 9 in human trophoblasts.
TLDR
Invasive ability of early CTs was inhibited by tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP)-2 and MMP-2 antibody in a dose dependent manner, suggesting that the invasive ability of trophoblasts may be regulated by the enzyme activity of gelatinases, especially M MP-2. Expand
The effects of pre-B-cell colony-enhancing factor on the human fetal membranes by microarray analysis.
TLDR
Pre-B-cell colony-enhancing factor appears to be at the proximal end of the pathway to labor initiation and may link sterile distention- induced labor with that of infection-induced labor. Expand
Gene expression patterns in bovine in vitro-produced and nuclear transfer-derived embryos and their implications for early development.
TLDR
Several aberrations were found in IVP and NT-derived embryos, including a complete lack of expression, an induced expression, or a significant up- or downregulation of a specific gene, hypothesize that the alterations are caused by epigenetic modifications, primarily by changes in the methylation patterns.
